What is the Walkers Flavour Cup?
Walkers Flavour Cup is a competition to find the World’s best crisp flavour and everyone in the nation can take part to decide the winner.
15 new flavours from around the world have been launched and are going ‘bag to bag’ in the Walkers Flavour Cup but only one can be crowned the Walkers Flavour Champion! The winner will be the flavour with the most fans at the end of the Walkers Flavour Cup!
We need YOU to tell us which flavour you support, and by simply becoming a supporter you could be a winner too! Become the fan of a flavour and you will have the chance to win some fantastic prizes.
Plus you can compete to become a Superfan by showing us how passionate you are about your favourite flavour in the most fun, creative and original way by uploading a video or picture at www.walkers.co.uk
Every Superfan entrant has the chance to win BIG! A panel of experts will choose the super-est Superfan entry from each of the 15 flavours and each will win £10,000!

How long does the Walkers Flavour Cup last for?
Our new flavour packs will be in-store from late March 2010. The Walkers Flavour Cup website will close on 31/10/10. The new flavour packs are only in stores for a limited period over the summer.

You may submit your Superfan entry from 00:01 on 01/04/10 until 23:59 on 11/07/10.
The opening date for the first Flavour Fan competition draws is 24/03/10. The closing date for entry into the first Flavour Fan competition draws is 16/05/10.
The opening date for the second Flavour Fan competition draws is 17/05/10. The closing date for the second Flavour Fan competition draws 11/07/10.
There will be one final prize draw on 31/10/10 for those who became Flavour Fans after 11/07/10. The closing date for the final prize draw is 31/10/10.

Do I need to buy a pack to take part in the promotion?
No, you don’t need to buy a pack to take part in the promotion. But where’s the fun in that? It’s much tastier to try as many of our new flavours as possible and then decide which you like best. Choose from…

I don’t have access to the internet; can I still take part in the promotion?
Yes you can still support your favourite flavour! Simply text the country of your favourite flavour, e.g.’England’, to 51199 for FREE. This short code will work from the UK and ROI.
Remember don’t text in the country’s name more than once as only your first text for your chosen country will be counted.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of some elements of the Walkers Flavour Cup promotion, to participate and enter the Flavour Fan and Superfan competitions you will need access to the internet.
Most public libraries have computers that you can use to access the internet, or maybe you’ve got a relative or family member who has internet access that you can use.

How will the winning flavour be decided?
The flavour with the most registered fans at the end of the tournament will be declared the Winner. The Winning Flavour will be announced during the week commencing 12/07/10.

There are 15 tasty new Limited Editions flavours that have been developed to represent each of the countries participating in the Walkers Flavour Cup:

The new Walkers flavours and Walkers promotional packs will be widely available in your local retail outlets; petrol forecourts and most supermarkets within the UK and Ireland.
It is possible, however, that limited quantities of promotional packs could find their way into Europe.
Is the promotion valid outside of the UK and ROI?
Sorry, but the Walkers Flavour Cup is open to residents of the UK and Republic of Ireland only.

How do I support my favourite flavour?
You can support your favourite flavour via text or online at www.walkers.co.uk see below for details:

Simply log onto www.walkers.co.uk, click on ‘Become a Fan’ tab in the menu at the top of the page, and choose your favourite flavour. It really is that easy!

What are the costs for supporting my flavour by text?
Walkers have arranged for all texts to be free of charge across all networks courtesy of O2. Hurrah! By texting your keyword you agree to receive a marketing message from Walkers and O2.
Will I receive a confirmation message that you have received my keyword?
Yes, when you text in the name of a country, you will receive a reply text message confirming that we have received your support. Only the first text for each country will be counted.
By texting your keyword you also agree to receive a marketing message from Walkers and O2.
I have sent a text but not received a response
There could be a number of reasons for this:
- It may be that some of the networks are experiencing delays
- Your inbox could be full
- You've had your phone turned off for a long period of time. If so, wait 24 hours to see if you receive a reply
- It could be that you have sent your text to the wrong number. Please ensure that you have sent your text to 51199
- You’ve already texted that country
We suggest you try to text your keyword. If it has already been received, you will be told this in the reply message, unless you’ve previously received a message.
You will only be sent up to a maximum of 1 message from Walkers for each text you send.

How do I send the country of my favourite flavour by text on my mobile phone?
Go to your messaging options on your mobile phone. Select 'write a message'*.
In the text message, you must carefully write the country of your favourite flavour.
Now send the text message to 51199.
*For handset specific instructions please refer to your phone user manual or the handset manufacturers website. Your network operator may also be able to help.

How many countries’ flavours can I support?
You can support more than one flavour in the Walkers Flavour Cup promotion.
How old do I have to be to support my favourite flavour?
You must be 16 years of age or older. Sorry, kids, but them’s the rules!
Superfan competition
How do I submit my Superfan entry?
Log onto www.walkers.co.uk and click on the ‘Enter Now’ link. Review the official rules and follow the on screen instructions to upload your Superfan entry.
Please note that Superfan entries that do not include all the required information or do not adhere to the rules and regulations will be considered void and will not be judged as part of this competition. Sorry, but rules are rules.
You may submit your Superfan entry from 00:01 on 01/04/10 until 23:59 on 11/07/10.
Is there a limit to the amount of Superfan entries I can submit?
No, you can upload as many entries into the competition as you like, BUT:
The same entry cannot be uploaded more than once throughout the duration of the competition.
You may submit a modified version of a previous Superfan entry so long as the new entry is materially and substantially different from the previous entry.
There is a limit to one weekly Superfan prize per person and a limit to one overall Superfan prize per person.
How will Superfan entries be judged?
All entries will be judged against the following judging criteria:
- It’s all about the flavour
- It makes us smile
- It’s original and creative
- The thumbs up rating of fans on walkers.co.uk
What rules are there for each Superfan entry?
Please read the Superfan Terms and Conditions before submitting your entry by clicking here. Meanwhile, here are the basic rules to get you started….
- Stick to these rules and you could be celebrating. Break them and you’ll end up crying into your crisps.
- You can submit your entries from 00.01 on 1st April until 23.59 on 11 July 2010.
- Video entries must be no longer than thirty (30) seconds.
- The maximum file size for Superfan entries is 20MB.
File(s) submitted must be in one of the following formats:
- For video: avi, mov, flv, mpg, 3gp, wmv
- For pictures: jpg, bmp, png, gif
- No swearing, no naked people, no smoking or drinking alcohol, nothing too violent or offensive and don’t break any laws. Remember, it’s just a bit of fun, not an epic movie or a professional photoshoot.
- Your entry must be made by you and you must have the rights to all content used in it. Entries must only feature Walkers and no other brands or copyrighted works… so no copyrighted music, audio, pictures, video or branded clothing. Your entry will be shown on the internet. What is the process my Superfan entry has to go through?
All Superfan entries will be reviewed for content before being published or judged.
Superfan entries that do not comply with the official rules of the competition or include inappropriate content, as determined by Walkers, will be disqualified and will not be published or considered for a prize.
All Superfan entries that have abided by the rules will be on the website.
I’m not sure whether my Superfan entry uploaded. How can I make sure it did?
After a successful upload you will receive a confirmation email within 24hrs (weekdays, 9-5 only). If you don’t get the email, then your Superfan entry has not been uploaded. But don’t worry, you can try again. If your Superfan entry breaks a competition rule you will get an email to let you know this. Make sure you check your junk mail folder if you don’t receive a confirmation email within 24 hours.
My Superfan entry was not allowed because it broke a competition rule. How can I get it into the competition?
You can re-edit your Superfan entry so that it no longer breaks the rules and then you can submit it again, but you’ve got to get it in before the Superfan entry deadline which is 11/07/10.

What format can I use for my Superfan entry and what is the maximum file size?
Superfan entries can be uploaded as pictures or videos working to the following specifications:
Video Entries
Video file(s) of any Superfan entry must be no longer than thirty (30) seconds.
The maximum file size is 20 MBFile(s) submitted must be provided in one of the following file formats: . avi, mov, flv, mpg, 3gp, wmv
Picture Entries
Max file size is 20 MB
File(s) must be submitted in one of the following file formats: jpeg, bmp, png gif
How can I find my Superfan entry online?
Your Superfan entry will only be visible once it’s been approved.
Simply go to www.walkers.co.uk and click on the Superfan gallery.
Once in the Superfan gallery, search by selecting options within the drop down menus and click Search. Contained in your confirmation email is a reference number which you can also use to search.
Your Superfan entry will appear in the main window.
I have been sent my reference number but can’t find my Superfan entry on the website. Why is this?
It could be because of any of the following reasons:
- Your Superfan entry may not yet have been uploaded to the Superfan gallery – please allow 48 hours for your entry to be uploaded.
- You may have typed in your Superfan entry reference number incorrectly, try re-typing the Superfan entry reference number in the search box, just in case.
- Please note, you will not be sent a reference number before your entry is approved.
Why do I need to get permission from people in my Superfan entry?
The reason is that without a person’s permission, they can object to your Superfan entry being on the internet and we can’t use it. If your video / picture features children you must have the permission of their parents or legal guardian.
Can I just use any-old music in my Superfan entry?
No. You must get the permission of the copyright owner of the music and the lyrics too (usually the composer, writer and/or publisher) before you put music in your entry. This can be very expensive and unfortunately, we can’t show entries with copyright music if you have not obtained appropriate permission and/or paid an appropriate copyright licence fee. But fear not! You can choose from some ready-bought music here (link to music that consumers can use on walkers.co.uk)
Or you can create your own music, get a musical friend to create something for you, or get a mate’s band to record a track for you.How old do I have to be to enter the Superfan competition ?

Judging of Superfan Entries
Who decides the winning Superfan entries?
All entries will be judged against the following judging criteria:
- It’s got to be all about the flavour
- Making us smile
- Originality and Creativity
- Rating of fans on walkers.co.uk
How do I win the weekly and final prizes?
Log onto www.walkers.co.uk and click on the ‘Create a Superfan entry’ link. Review the official rules and follow the on screen instructions to upload your Superfan entry.
Please note that Superfan entries that do not include all the required information or/and do not adhere to the rules and regulations will be considered void and will not be judged as part of this competition.
Weekly prizes will be awarded by the judging panel to their favourite Superfan entries received from the previous week’s Superfan entries. The closing date for the first weekly competition is 25/04/10. All entries received up to this point will be considered for this prize. The closing date for the last weekly draw is 04/07/10.
Once the closing date for entries has been reached, the judging panel will decide which is the best Superfan entry for each Flavour overall. The super-est Superfan for each of the 15 Flavours will win £10,000 each.
What can I do to increase my chances of winning?
All entries will be judged against the following judging criteria:

- Get as many ‘Thumbs up’ ratings as possible - share the link with your mates via email, facebook, twitter, on a blog or anywhere you think they might see it. That way you’ll get people talking about it and giving your Superfan entry the thumbs up. But remember only ‘Thumbs up’ ratings on the Walkers site will be counted so if you upload it with a tag to your entry on www.walkers.co.uk, it will increase your chances of winning!
I didn’t win a weekly prize; does that mean I won’t be able to win the overall competition?
Don’t worry if you don’t win a weekly prize, because you COULD still win the final prize.
If I win a weekly prize, can I go on to win the overall competition?
Yes, your Superfan entry will be included within the final competition to find the best Superfan for each flavour.
How do I get more people to rate my Superfan entry?
Your Superfan entry can be given the ‘Thumbs up’ by fans on the Walkers website. Each person can only give your entry a thumps up once.
Judges will take this into account, so once you have uploaded your Superfan entry, share the link with your mates via email, facebook, twitter, on a blog or anywhere you think they might see it, to get people talking about it and giving your Superfan entry the thumbs up.
Remember only ‘Thumbs up’ ratings on the Walkers website will be counted, so if you upload anywhere else, upload it with a tag to your entry on www.walkers.co.uk, so people can come and give it a thumbs up. That will increase your chances of winning!
When will the Superfan Gallery be open for people to rate entries?
The Superfan Gallery will be open for people to rate entries from 11/04/10.
How will I know if I have won one of the Superfan prizes?
You will be sent an email to the email address you supplied when you entered, or will be called on the phone number supplied if you are a winner.
How can I find out who has won the Superfan competitions?
The winning entries will be displayed in the Superfan gallery.
What are the closing dates for the weekly £1000 (€1,100 in ROI) Superfan competitions?
There will be 11 weekly prizes of £1,000 (€1,100 in ROI), one per week from 25th April 2010 until 4th July 2010. All entries received before 25th April 2010 will be considered for the first weekly prize. The winner will be our favourite entry received that week.
The closing dates for the weekly prizes are as follows: 25/04/10, 2/05/10, 9/05/10, 16/05/10, 23/05/10, 30/05/10, 6/06/10, 13/06/10, 20/06/10, 27/06/10, 4/07/10. Weekly winners will be announced within 14 days after each of these dates.

On what date will the winning Superfans for each flavour (who will win £10,000 - €11,000 in ROI), be announced?
The 15 winners will be announced no later than 25/07/10.
If I am a winner, will I be expected to participate in publicity?
We would like to use the winners’ entries to publicise how passionate the Walkers flavour fans are about their favourite flavour! As a winner, you may be asked to participate in publicity but you are not obliged to say yes. We will need to publicly announce the names of the Superfan winners.

What are the Flavour Fan competitions?
The Flavour Fan competitions give Walkers flavour fans the chance to win some fantastic prizes that celebrate their chosen flavour’s country and the flavour itself! There will be 3 Flavour Fan competitions for each Flavour during the course of the Walkers Flavour Cup.
How do I enter the monthly Flavour Fan competitions?
There will be 3 Flavour Fan competitions for each Flavour during the course of the Walkers Flavour Cup. Go to the flavour, click on "Enter Competition" and answer the question.
What sort of Flavour Fan prizes can I win?
You can find details of the current Flavour Fan prizes on offer on each flavour’s homepage which can found under the ‘Choose a Flavour’ tab at the top of the screen at www.walkers.co.uk the website. The prizes include:

A winner from each group of fans that have entered into the competition for each flavour will be chosen at random from all of the correct entries received for the competition in question.
How will I know if I have won a Flavour Fan competition?
You will be sent an email to the email address you supplied or will be called on the phone number supplied if you are a winner.
How can I find out who has won the Flavour Fan competitions?

How old do I have to be to enter the Flavour Fan competitions?
The age restrictions vary for each Flavour Fan competition, please refer to individual competition Terms and Conditions which can be found on the entry pages for each competition.

Does supporting my flavour by text automatically open me up to receive more text communications from Walkers?
By texting your favourite flavour’s country you do consent to receive a marketing message from Walkers and O2.
You will only receive one marketing message each time you text in and this will be contained within the confirmation bounce back message.
